Math Placement Testing

The purpose of math placement testing is to determine a student’s current level of skills and knowledge in math. This information helps to determine the appropriate academic level and helps to ensure that students enroll in courses that best match their academic skills and prior learning experience. Proper course placement during the first year is critical to fostering student success in college.
