New Student Checklist

Below are details and resources to assist with your enrollment process. If you have questions, please call 607-962-9151 or email us at admissions@corning-cc.edu.

Congratulations on your acceptance to SUNY Corning Community College! You should have received an acceptance letter from the Admissions Office, including details for:

  • MyCorning Username
  • MyCorning Email
  • Your College ID#

Transfer Credits: If you’re seeking credit for prior college courses, please have official transcripts sent electronically or mailed to: SUNY CCC Office of Admissions, 1 Academic Dr., Corning, NY 14830. Transcripts will be evaluated once received.

MyCorning is our college's internal website. Activate your account at MyCorning Activation using your CID number. For missing information, call 607-962-9151.

Once activated, you can access your college email, MyBanner, Brightspace, and other resources. For help, contact the HELP DESK at 607-962-9555.
All SUNY CCC students must meet math, reading, and English proficiency requirements. Based on your high school transcripts and any prior credits, you may need to take a placement test. If you are required to take a placement test, visit the placement testing page for details.

After completing placement testing and transfer credit evaluation, schedule an appointment to register for classes at the Main Campus (Spencer Hill). Use this link here or call 607-962-9875. For undecided students, our Career Services team can help explore options. Contact them at careers@corning-cc.edu 

Before your appointment, please:

  • Activate (claim) your MyCorning account
  • Log in to MyCorning
  • Review your Degree Works
Note: If your appointment is a Google Meet, a link will be sent. For phone appointments, we will contact you directly.

Complete the FAFSA at https://fafsa.gov (School Code: 002863) and, if applicable, the NYS TAP at HESC (Code: 2042). To view your financial aid information:

  1. Log into MyCorning
  2. Select "Student Resources" > "My Banner" > "Financial Aid" > "Offer" tab
Verification may be required. Visit the Financial Aid Forms Page for documentation.
If you've been a NY resident for at least one year, complete a Certificate of Residency (COR) every academic year. For instructions, visit NYS Residency Instructions or call 607-962-9875. Failure to submit a valid COR may result in out-of-state charges.
Once registered, check your ebill in MyCorning to view charges and financial aid status. Visit the MyCorning Billing Guide here for details.
If taking six or more credits, submit a Pre-Enrollment Health Form. Students born after 12/31/1956 must also provide proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella. Contact the Health Office at Healthoffice@corning-cc.edu  with questions.

To access your course schedule

  1. Log into MyCorning
  2. Select "Student Resources" > "Academic Resources" > "Student Schedule"
  3. Choose your term and click the “Printer” button to print.

Register for classes, and the bookstore will prepare your materials. One month before classes, you’ll receive an email to select your delivery preference. Digital materials will be available through Brightspace. Visit First Day Complete for more details.

All vehicles on campus require a parking permit. If you plan on attending in-person classes, register your vehicle online here to ensure parking availability.
Your SUNY CCC ID can be obtained at the Student Life Office on the Spencer Hill campus, or the Greeter Desk in Elmira at the Academic Workforce Development Center. You can also submit a photo online and have your ID mailed or ready for pick-up. Complete the Student Photo ID Process Online.
