The English placement process is a self-guided online survey designed to assess your past experiences in reading & writing and your academic habits. At the end of the survey you will choose one of the three English courses: ENGL 0980, ENGL 1010 with 0999 or ENGL 1010. After you have been accepted to the college and submitted your transcripts, you will receive an email from our Admissions department containing instructions and a link to the survey.
SUNY Corning Community College uses the online platform LumenOhm to administer its math placement exams. Once you have been accepted to the college and submitted your transcripts, you will receive an email message from our Admissions department containing instructions on how to log into LumenOhm and complete the practice problems. Please attempt the practice problems prior (at least 1 to 2 weeks) to testing since this will help you prepare for the math placement exam. Also, make sure to begin your practice with the appropriate level. Students will only be allowed to take one placement test.
In cooperation with the Accessibility Services department, the Testing Center is able to offer accommodations to students who have approval. If you require accommodations for testing, you will need to meet with or contact the Accessibility Services Coordinator prior to scheduling a test appointment. The Coordinator will schedule your placement test after completion of the intake process. You may reach the Accessibility Services department online or by calling 607-962-9262 or 1-800-358-7171 ext. 9262.
