Online Proctoring

ProctorU is a live online proctoring service that allows you to take your exam from the comfort of your home.  ProctorU is available 24/7; however, you will need to schedule your proctoring session at least 72 hours in advance to avoid any on-demand scheduling fees.  Creating a ProctorU account is very simple. All you will need to do is visit the ProctorU registration page.

Also, to ensure you have the best testing situation possible, please visit the ProctorU technical support web page, which is free. On this page, you will also be able to test your equipment, learn about what to expect during your proctoring session, and ask any questions you may have about the proctoring process with a ProctorU representative.

In order to use ProctorU, you will need to have a high-speed internet connection, a webcam (internal or external), a functioning microphone (some web cameras have them built-in), a Windows or Apple Operating System, and a government issued photo ID. Your college ID may also be used. It is recommended that you visit the ProctorU technical support page prior to your proctoring session to test your equipment.  For additional technical services needed before your exam, you can click on the button that says “connect to a live person.”

* Not every course uses ProctorU. Please speak with your instructor to learn about its availability in your course.

The college will pay the cost for all exams, but there are premium fees that the student will pay, depending on the time the student signs up to take an exam. To avoid paying the premium fees, a student should schedule exams outside the 72-hour window. In the event that you schedule outside of the 72-hour window, you will need to use a credit card to pay for the premium fees.

Premium Fee Cost (on-demand)

  • Take It Now (TIN): If a student schedules an exam up to 24 hours prior to the start time of the exam, the college will still pay for the cost of the exam, but the student will pay the additional premium fee cost, which is $8.75.
  • Take It Soon (TIS): If a student schedules an exam outside the 24 hour period and up to 72 hours, the college will still pay for the cost of the exam, but the student will pay the premium fee cost, which is $5.00.
