These microcredentials align with requirements for the Machine Tool Technology, A.A.S. degree should students choose to continue their education after obtaining the microcredential.

Microcredentials

There is a need for the availability of shorter non-degree credentials in the Machining discipline. In response to needs identified by SUNY CCC’s Workforce Education personnel who are interfacing with local industry supplying technical training. The purpose for the microcredential is to build on the skills gained to give the student skills needed to program and operate CNC Mills and Lathes. Students will learn more sophisticated programming, learn and use industry standard MasterCAM programming to generate the code necessary to program CNC machines to efficiently make parts to specifications.
