Direct Support Professional III Micro-credential 

The curriculum presented in this micro-credential aligns with the national certification offered to Direct Support Professionals through The National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP); there are three certification levels available. This micro-credential provides the student the opportunity to apply for Level III certification.

Through 225 hours of applied learning in the field, students will develop client empowerment and advocacy skills while supporting client development of skills needed to live in community residential settings. In the practicum students will be supported by both a practicum site supervisor and a SUNY CCC faculty mentor.

This micro-credential aligns with requirements for the Human Services A.S. should students choose to continue their education after obtaining the micro-credential.

The Direct Support Professional III Micro-credential is 6 credits and comprised of the following course:

HUSR 2960 Human Services Practicum 1 (6 cr.)
