Our Program

The Chemical Dependency Counseling A.A.S. program is designed to prepare students to enter the field of alcoholism and substance abuse treatment.

Required courses for the program meet NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) requirements for 350 hours of training for NYS OASAS Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).

Our program includes Peer Recovery Advocacy and Coaching (HLTH 2900) as a requirement.  This is a unique opportunity that allows students to contribute meaningfully to their communities as Certified Peer Recovery Advocates (CPRA) prior to completion of the program.

Employers report strong satisfaction with students in practicum resulting in high employment of graduates.
