Riker was best known for service in Starfleet, as a captain in command of the Federation starship USS Titan from the year 2379 to 2385. In that year he was promoted to rear admiral, serving as adjutant to Fleet Admiral Leonard James Akaar, the commander-in-Chief of the Federation Starfleet.
