Professor Smith’s diligent work on the Direct Support Professional micro-credential application for national accreditation was instrumental in SUNY CCC receiving accreditation for both levels (DSP I and DSP II) and was the first SUNY school to obtain this distinction. Professor Smith’s work positioned SUNY CCC to become a pilot program for the state of New York, SUNY, and Office of People With Developmental Disabilities when significant grant funding became available. His collaboration with local providers, as well as the OPWDD, was instrumental in obtaining funding to create the DSP Level III micro-credential and a new course for Front Line Supervisors of DSP staff.
Calvin Williams, Senior Director of the Physical Plant, was awarded the Excellence in Professional
Service Award from the State University. Williams has been a dedicated employee to
the College, starting his career with SUNY CCC in 1990. He is a well-respected member
of the College’s administration, with many college employees relying on his institutional
knowledge and expertise. He oversees an area that includes cleaners, custodians, groundskeepers,
tradesmen, and two Assistant Directors. In this leadership role, he demonstrates guidance,
patience, flexibility, and a strong willingness to work with others outside his area.
In his role, Williams has overseen a multitude of capital projects, including the
construction of Perry Hall, the complete renovation of the Commons and Library, the
renovation of the Planetarium into the Digital Dome, the construction of the Health
Education Center, the renovation of the Gymnasium building, and the renovation of
the College’s new Makerspace and Mechatronics labs.

for Excellence in Adjunct Teaching. Instructor Larrabee consistently demonstrates
a willingness to help the Business Department through her commitment to teaching,
ACE, advising, and attendance at departmental functions and meetings. She has been
willing to teach any courses that the department needs, sometimes at the last minute,
and even adapted the course syllabus as an adjunct instructor. Instructor Larrabee
is always ready to help students when they struggle and consistently monitors her
classes for signs that students may need her help. She demands quality performance,
ensures rigor, is compassionate, and supportive.
