Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
The Certified Nurse Aide Program is a certification program that prepares students for the nurse aide certification examination and job opportunities. The responsibilities of this program include assisting the client with meeting the daily need for hygiene, ambulation, nutrition, elimination, comfort, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
The students will learn to function as members of the healthcare team. Upon completion, students are given the opportunity to take the Prometric NYC certification exam.
This program meets the NYS CNA requirements of 120 hours; 90 classroom and lab hours with 30 clinical hours.
The CNA Program is a 5-week course.

Students will need scrubs, healthcare appropriate shoes, and a watch with a second hand for this program.
CSS Workforce NY provides assistance with funding for local demand occupations. CNA is included on this list. CSS Workforce NY will provide up to $1,800 for tuition. On a case by case evaluation of the student’s needs, supportive services may be available up to $150. Additionally, should the student qualify per the CSS Workforce NY Travel Policy up to $200 in mileage.
Following this class, there will be a hiring event for CNA’s and Home Health Aides. Local agencies will be invited with the opportunity to conduct and schedule interviews with all CNA students from this class.
