SUNY Corning Community College (CCC) and Elmira College have established the following transfer articulation agreements for the purpose of affording students the opportunity to pre-plan their college careers and facilitate the transfer process from CCC to Elmira College.

Transfer Paths Include:
  • BS - Accounting
  • BS - Business Administration
  • BS - Chemistry: Medicinal Plant Chemistry Track
  • BS - Environmental Science
  • BS - Finance
  • Dual Enrollment of Courses in BA - Theatre

 

Bachelor of Science - Accounting, Business Administration, and Finance

This agreement guarantees admission with full junior standing into the Elmira College B.S. Accounting degree, Business Administration degree or Finance degree program to students who:

  • Graduate from SUNY Corning Community College with the A.S. Business Administration degree or A.S. Accounting Degree;
  • Have completed the pre-requisite courses in Business Administration or Accounting with a grade of C or higher and achieved a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0;
  • Have completed the coursework listed in the appropriate transfer equivalency charts attached to this agreement.

Elmira College will accept all credits required for the appropriate SUNY Corning Community College Associate in Science degree toward fulfillment of requirements for the related Bachelor’s degree.

Students graduating from SUNY Corning Community College’s Business Administration A.S. program are eligible to transfer to either the Business Administration or Finance B.S. program at Elmira College and should follow the specific transfer equivalency chart accordingly.

Students graduating from SUNY Corning Community College’s Accounting A.S. program are eligible to transfer to the Elmira College Accounting B.S. degree.

 

Bachelor of Science - Chemistry, Medicinal Plant Chemistry Track

Elmira College agrees to accept as juniors those students who have successfully completed the courses outlined in the degree program identified in this agreement. CCC students must graduate form the A.S. Liberal Arts and Sciences: Mathematics and Science degree.

The grade point average for SUNY Corning Community College degree graduates for acceptance to Elmira College shall be 2.3 or above. Students must attain "C" grades or better in all core or required courses applied to Elmira College for transfer credits. "D" grades in other courses will be applied as elective credit.

Elmira College agrees to accept as juniors those students who have successfully completed the courses outlined in the degree program identified in this agreement. CCC students must graduate form the A.S. Environmental Science degree.

Dual Enrollment of Courses for Bachelor of Arts: Theatre

This agreement is regarding dual enrollment coursework identified by Elmira College's and SUNY CCC's Theatre programs. The agreement includes parallel programs and it identifies coursework that CCC students may enroll in within EC's Theatre Program to work towards completion of CCC's A.A. Humanities and Social Science degree, which may also count for equivalent credit within the completion of EC's Theatre curriculum (major or minor).

Information and Terms of Dual Enrollment of Courses:

  • EC shall offer matriculated CCC students the same applicable CCC in-State and out-of-State tuition per-credit rate for dual enrolled theatre courses.
  • Additional EC course fees may apply.
  • To qualify for dual enrollment, SUNY CCC enrolled students will interview with EC Theatre's Program and Technical Directors (via email, phone call, and/or in person).
  • Typical services available to EC part time/commuting students will be afforded to CCC students while dual-enrolled (to include use of commuter lounger, library, academic services and buildings, public areas, dining hall service at the personal expense of the student, etc.).
  • Students who matriculate at EC upon completion of their CCC degree or as a transfer student will pay EC tuition.

Available Coursework through EC:

Elmira College's: THE 1012 Stagecraft, 3 credits (typically offered in Fall term) - equivalent to CCC's THEA 1030 Intro to Technical Theatre.

Elmira Course description: An introduction to the rigorous technical aspects of theatre production for Theatre Arts productions. Students are expected to complete one crew assignment as a requisite to successful completion of this course. Includes lecture and discussion, construction, painting projects, and more. Meets *MQR Distribution Requirements. $50 course fee for project materials.

Elmira College's: THE 2100 Stage Lighting and Sound, 3 credits (typically offered in Winter term) - not offered at CCC and is integral for theatre students interested in careers in theatre production (technical/design).

Elmira Course description: An in-depth study, both theoretical and applied, of the basic principles of lighting and sound for the stage. More specifically, this course will explore the principles of lighting and sound design for the stage utilizing knowledge of refraction, reflection and physics of sound and computer aided design. Includes lecture and discussion, demonstration, and class projects. Class projects will consist of a specific lighting and sound problem, which the student will solve by applying lighting and sound projects in class. Meets *MQR Distribution Requirements. $30 course fee for project materials.

Elmira College's: THE 2120 Introduction to Theatrical Design, 3 credits (offered as every other year, as needed) - Required course for EC Theatre majors.

Elmira Course description: Will introduce the design processes of the theatre. A study of the principles of visual design. Class sessions will be augmented with projects in line, color, spatial relationships, and movement. Students will learn skills necessary for communicating designs in scenery, costumes, makeup, lighting, and props. More specifically, this course will make an in-depth study of drafting for the stage, set construction, prop construction, scene painting, computer aided design, drafting and 3-D modeling.
