The Fire Protection Technology: Exterior Operations micro-credential aligns with requirements for the Directed Studies A.A.S. program should students choose to continue their education after obtaining the micro-credential.
The Fire Protection Technology: Exterior Operations micro-credential is 4 credits and comprised of the following courses:
HLTH 1010, Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer (1 cr.)
Meets the special needs of individuals who are expected to respond in emergency situations. Presents advanced CPR skills and theory.
FIRE 1155: Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) (3 cr.)
Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) course. The first segment of firefighting operations including firefighter safety, personal protective equipment, and understanding basic fire dynamics. Hands-on skills to include laddering, ropes, knots, fire hose presentations, and forcible entry.
