Q: When did you begin working at SUNY CCC, and why/how did you end up here?
A:  While working as a financial analyst at Corning Incorporated and working on my graduate thesis - I was researching benchmark corporations and what contributed to their success.  My thesis included research in corporate education programs and emotional intelligence.  Someone in workforce development at CCC asked me if I would be interested in teaching Microsoft Office Suite to Corning Inc hourly employees, so I started that in 1999.  In 2000, I began teaching as an adjunct when the Chair of the Business & Computing Division, Nancy Latour, called and asked me to be an adjunct teacher for Elements of Economics.  I taught full-time as a contract lecturer for several years before applying for and getting a tenure track instructor of Business Administration position.

Q: What classes do you teach at SUNY CCC?
A: Elements of Economics, Professionalism, Business Communications, Business Math, Business Applications, Office Procedures, and Office Management.  I have taught Principles of Business, Office Communications, Business Math Lab, Intro to Word, Advanced Word Processing, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Q: What's your favorite part about being a faculty member at SUNY CCC?
A: I enjoy being in the classroom - interacting with students.  Many times over the years, a student would come to their first college class wondering if they could do college work.  Encouraging students' learning and success is incredible.

Q: What's been the best part of your professional career?
A: I love what I do at CCC.  To know I made a difference in someone's life.  I have run into students years after they took my class, and they remember the examples I gave them in class.  It means the world to me.

Q: What's one thing most people don't know about you?
A: I am a yoga enthusiast and vegetarian.

Q: What do you like to do during your free time/time outside of the classroom?
A: My favorite place is my garden, tending to flowers and vegetables.
