ACE Summer Program
SUNY Corning Community College Welcomes ACE Instructors to Summer Workshop
--
SUNY Corning Community College welcomed nearly 100 local high school instructors to campus on Wednesday, August 12, for the 2021 Accelerated College Education (ACE) summer workshop.
The summer workshop, an annual event hosted by SUNY CCC, serves as a professional development opportunity for local-area high school ACE instructors. Instructors from as far away as Wayland-Cohocton, New York, and Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, traveled to the Spencer Hill for the workshop. In total, 36 local high schools partner with SUNY CCC to provide ACE programming.
While on campus, instructors had the opportunity to meet with peers within their departments and SUNY CCC faculty members in order to prepare for the upcoming academic year. SUNY CCC’s Learning Center staff presented, in-person and virtually, on tutoring and other resources that high school students have access to while enrolled in the ACE program.
ACE is a concurrent enrollment program in which high school students take college-level courses at their high school, earning college credit through SUNY CCC. The ACE program is the region's first choice for high school students to become involved with concurrent enrollment programs and post-secondary experiences.
Students enrolled in ACE course(s) earn college credit and an official college transcript. Students may also receive high school credit for the course.
