Direct-to-Career Program
Mechatronics involves mechanical, electronic, computer, robotic, and control systems.
You will gain the technical knowledge and skills needed to install, repair and maintain
electromechanical, fluid power, process control or robotic systems. You will do hands-on
learning in an equipment lab where you will work on models of a multi-stage assembly
line.
Industrial control systems have been defined as mechanical or electrical. Almost every mechanical system has electric- or computer-based controls. Technicians need the knowledge of each type of system. They must know how the interconnections between mechanical, electrical, and computer systems work. Mechatronics is present in any automated system, from HVAC systems to robotic assembly lines.
A Mechatronics A.A.S. degree prepares graduates for technician work in advanced manufacturing. Often, Mechatronics Technicians assist in the design, development, repair, and maintenance of electronic/robotic systems and individual component.
