Earth Day: 2019
Join advocates of Earth Day and a sustainable future at SUNY Corning Community College (CCC) on Monday, April 22, from 11:00am to 2:00pm, for the annual SUNY Corning Community College Earth Day Farmers’ Market. More than a dozen environmentally friendly organizations from the community will share advice for enhancing our lives with green alternatives. The event is free and open to the public. The event will be followed by the ceremonial groundbreaking for the College’s STEAM Innovation Center, which begins at 2:00pm and is also on the Spencer Hill campus (1 Academic Drive, Corning, N.Y.).
“The Earth Day Farmers’ Market is a one-stop opportunity to discover the many positive and planet-saving options that are available to us in our community,” said Dr. Donna Powers, professor of biology at Corning Community College and Earth Day Farmers’ Market co-organizer. “In one afternoon and in one location, you can learn what we’re doing to protect our watershed, how we’re preserving local bird populations, and how we can support our local farmers.”
