Teaching

I teach communication as a practice of becoming more capable of knowing and expressing oneself, understanding others, and participating responsibly in a shared world. I recognize my students as whole, evolving people with powerful stories to tell and to live. I try to consider how what happens in my classroom might matter to the countless others beyond it, and to wider ecologies. I know a few things passingly well, am confused by much more, and know next to nothing about almost everything else. Most of all, I appreciate teaching—selfishly—as an opportunity to learn and connect.
