Virtual Auditions to be Held for Spring Theatre Production

January 13, 2021

SUNY Corning Community College and the Muse of Fire theatre club will hold virtual auditions for the upcoming spring production of The Spoon River Project. Auditions will be held by appointment the week of February 15, 2021 via zoom.

Rehearsals will begin the week of February 22. The show is scheduled for April 22-25, with two live-streamed, live performances on April 23 and 24.

Auditions will be open to all SUNY CCC students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.

Actors of all ages are needed. The production is also seeking a stage manager and production staff.

Students are also eligible to recieve 1 or 2 credit hours for their participation by enrolling in THEA 2102 or THEA 1101.

The Spoon River Project shares the story of a small Illinois town and its cemetery residents. A sensation when it was published in 1915, these 200 first-person epitaphs, spoken by the lively dead of Spoon River, comprised the first authentic poetic exploration of American Midwestern small town life and values. As starkly relevant in 2021 as it was in 1915. The play will be set in its original time.
