Corning Community College (CCC) is pleased to host an opening reception for a group exhibit of ceramics, titled “Ten Years of Fire,” that celebrates the 10th anniversary of CCC’s anagama wood-fired kiln. Anagama is an ancient Japanese firing process in which the surfaces of the clay are painted with fire and natural glazes are created by chance. The opening will be held on Friday, October 25 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Atrium Gallery on the second floor of the Administration Building on the Spencer Hill campus in Corning, NY. This event is free and open to the public.
The exhibition will run through January 31, 2014. The Atrium Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from Noon to 4:00 p.m. The gallery is closed during winter break from December 19, 2013 through January 6, 2014.
