DJ Dates is an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Computer and Information Science department. He is a big believer in Corning Community College, and has previously been a CCC student, staff member, and college administrator. Prior to becoming faculty, he worked for ten years in the Information Technology department developing web and database applications. Some of these web applications are still in use fifteen years later.
DJ has a Master's degree in Database Technologies from Regis University, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Excelsior College, and an associate's degree from Corning Community College. DJ is an Oracle Certified Professional Database Administrator (OCP) and has previously held professional certifications from the Project Management Institute (CAPM), the Institute for the Certification of Computing Professionals (CCP), and the Data Warehouse Institute (CBIP).
DJ is especially interested in team based learning, games in education, creating new software tools to make his work easier, and computer history.
