Join us for a Hunger 101 Workshop, led by Christine Ector from the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Hunger 101 is a one-time, role-playing activity and discussion that increases awareness and understanding of hunger and poverty and their many causes in our community.  The hour-long program allows individuals to take on the identity and circumstances of a real person faced with food insecurity in our region.  Participants must then try to make ends meet while also securing food for their families.

There will also be an opportunities for CCC students to sign up for service learning projects with one of the local food banks. Leading up Hunger Awareness Day, there will be a food drive, co-sponsored by Sustainability Committee, One Book, One College, and Diversity Council. Drop-offs for the food drive will be located in the Library (both levels), Nursing Building, and upstairs in the Classroom Building.

Remember for every $5 donated to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, $27 of food can be purchased for our community. Thank you for your support. Hunger Awareness Day is co-sponsored by CCC Sustainability Committee and CCC Diversity Center.
