Arthur A. Houghton, Jr. Library at Corning Community College presents Woven Wonders: The World of Medieval Tapestries, part of the Books and Bites series. This presentation by Dr. Kate Dimitrova from Alfred University will introduce the world of medieval European tapestries, beginning with the middle of the fourteenth century. Weaving our way through the history of tapestry, the monetary, cultural, political and religious values of these "woven wonders" will be demonstrated. After the presentation, Dr. Dimitrova will spend some time investigating the tapestries currently on display in the Arthur A. Houghton, Jr. Library. Attendees are encouraged to join in this exploration! Refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public.
