Teaching

My teaching is inspired by the belief that nursing education should be both engaging and meaningful. I strive to bring energy and enthusiasm into every lesson so students feel motivated and excited to learn. I enjoy the classroom most when I see students making connections—when a concept “clicks” because they have been actively involved in their own learning rather than passively listening.

To make complex nursing content approachable, I incorporate active learning strategies such as case studies, simulation, role-play, and group challenges. This keeps students on their toes, encourages teamwork, and helps them retain knowledge long-term.

Ashley is also a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE).
