Teaching

My courses, while based on research, have a very strong “real world” application approach. My teaching philosophy is that “Psychology should be used every day.” In my classroom we engage in daily activities to allow students to better understand the practical application of psychology. By using this process my students leave the class with a better understanding of themselves and others.

I love teaching because I believe education is the most important thing a person can own. It is something that can never be taken away, and I believe it is the one thing that can change this world for the better.

My favorite class to teach is Organizational Behavior because it is a class that provides an individual a large number of skills they can use in their personal and professional life. In this course, students learn a great deal about why they and others behave the way they do. It is important we first understand ourselves before we can understand others. Student evaluations are extremely positive about this course. In fact, multiple students have stated they wished their supervisor had taken this class! Another class I love to teach is Child Psychology. It is so important that parents understand the developmental milestones of a child, age limitations, and how to appropriately intervene when an issue arises.

I teach both face-to-face and online classes.
