Presents an introduction to modern genetics, including the transmission of hereditary information; DNA structure and replication, gene expression and regulation, mutation, DNA repair, and population genetics. Laboratory exercises complement these topics utilizing current techniques in molecular biology. (4 cr. hrs.) (Spring). Lecture/laboratory. May not be substituted for BIOL 1520. Lab fee.
Prerequisite: Any two college biology courses. One college chemistry course recommended.
