The career program in Accounting offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for entry-level employment in the accounting field upon graduation. A concentration of courses in accounting will prepare the individual for jobs ranging from bookkeeping to tax preparation.
Graduates of this program will be able to design and maintain a moderately complex, double-entry system of accounting records and apply basic quantitative and qualitative skills required in entry-level positions within the accounting field. Graduates of this program also receive extensive training in business communication skills and technologies, including spreadsheets and database management.
Graduates of this program have found jobs as junior accountants, account clerks, and payroll clerks in retail, government and financial institutions.
Students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university should enroll in our Business Administration AS program.
