BACHELOR DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM BETWEEN SUNY CORNING COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND ALFRED
UNIVERSITY
This document establishes a transfer articulation agreement between SUNY Coming Community
College (CCC) and Alfred University (AU). Its purpose is to afford students the opportunity
to pre-plan their college careers, and to facilitate the transfer process from SUNY
Coming Community College to the Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree program at Alfred
University.
ADMISSION. STANDING. AND OPPORTUNITY TO GRADUATE
This agreement guarantees admission with full junior standing into the Alfred University
B.F.A degree program to students who:
• Graduate from SUNY CCC with the Associate in Science (AS) degree in Fine Arts and
Design
• Have achieved a minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 for all courses taken
• Complete the required portfolio submission and receive an acceptable rating on the
portfolio rubric. This
portfolio submission should include 3 observational drawings and 12 other pieces in
any medium.
Students who graduate from SUNY Coming Community College having taken a minimum of
63 credits from
courses listed in Appendix A of this agreement are guaranteed the opportunity to eam
the bachelor’s degree with 68 credits of normal coursework through Alfred University.
TRANSFER OF COURSES FROM SUNY CORNING COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Alfred University will accept all credits required for the SUNY CCC Associate in Science
(Fine Arts and Design)
degree, in transfer, toward fulfillment of requirements for the bachelor’s degree.
The minimum number of credits that must be taken through the Alfred University degree
completion program in for a Bachelors of Fine Arts must result in a minimum total
of 128 credits completed through SUNY Coming Community College and Alfred University.
Alfred University’s graduation requirements for this program stipulate that a portion
of these credits, to be determined by Alfred University, must be completed in residence
on the Alfred University main campus. Alfred University will accept a limit of 75
transfer credits but as described in Appendix A, a minimum of 68 credits must still
be completed at Alfred University.
