“The Endless Horizon"

Narrated by Patrick Stewart, "The Endless Horizon" follows the history of mankind's exploration from the days of a flat Earth to the boundless universe as we know it today. Included are historically based, yet fictional, interviews with some of the most recognized figures from our past; such as Christopher Columbus and Sir Isaac Newton. "The Endless Horizon" brings the history of exploration to life for the audience.

Located in the Southern Tier of New York State, the Corning Community College Planetarium offers southern New York and northern Pennsylvania with a valuable astronomical resource. The Corning Community College Planetarium provides audiences with inspiring and amazing multimedia voyages into the field of astronomy that are accessible to audiences of all ages and interests. Full motion video, beautiful images from spacecraft and telescopes, and dazzling special effects combine with skillful narration to instill a sense of wonder in audiences, while providing them with educational facts about our universe at the same time. Audiences are taken on journeys ranging from their own backyard sky to distant galaxies and beyond.

The planetarium’s facilities are also available for hosting presentations and conferences, where the multimedia equipment can be utilized to enhance any meeting or presentation. PowerPoint, DVD, VHS, stationary and wireless microphones, slide projectors, and direct computer linking are all available for presentation methods of materials.

The Corning Community College Planetarium is equipped with a Spitz System 512 star projector incorporated into a Spitz ATM-3 system, 14 slide projectors, two laser disc players, two RGB video projectors, one LCD projector, a DVD player, meteor and comet projectors, a lightning generator, a moon phase projector, Dolby Surround Sound, and a full featured MIDI board.
