September 2013 Kids' Night at the Observatory
7PM-10PM
Our annual Kids' Night will feature astronomical crafts, comet demonstrations, outdoor observing through telescopes (if the weather is clear!), and tours of our facility. The Eileen Collins Observatory houses the one-tenth scale model of the 200" Hale Telescope at Mount Palomar, California. Please come join us for a fun night filled with adventure of astronomical proportions! Fun for kids of all ages!

June 5, 2012 Venus Transit of the Sun
The observatory will have an open house for the Venus transit of the Sun! We will be open from 5:30PM until sunset. The transit itself doesn't begin until 6:03PM. We will have solar telescopes for SAFE viewing of the Sun. We will also be projecting the live image in the Planetarium so more people can view it! This is the last time to see this type of transit for 105 years! Come see a once in a lifetime event! Unfortunately, there will be no rain date. The event is free and open to the public.
