Learning Centers

Corning Community College staffs four learning centers on the Spencer Hill campus plus two at the new Elmira facility. These centers will provide you with the personal help that you need with classroom assignments, homework and will help to prepare you for examinations.  Student tutors, professional staff, and resource materials are accessible to you in the centers.

We also offer online assistance for certain courses.  In addition, peer tutoring is available at various extension sites.  All services are provided at no cost to Corning Community College students. The learning centers are conveniently located near the departmental offices for their respective areas.

Spencer Hill Campus

The Mathematics Learning Center offers you assistance with mathematics and physics courses. Resources include professional and peer tutors, computerized learning programs, videotapes, practice exams, and reference books, and online tutoring. 

The Writing Center provides you with peer and professional assistance with all aspects of writing for any course you are enrolled in. Resources include handouts, practice exercises, citation guides, reference books, and much more.

The Science Learning Center offers you assistance with science courses. You will have the opportunity to practice lab exercises for tests, complete makeup labs, and receive tutoring from instructors and peer tutors. Textbooks, lecture notes, and lab supplies are available in the center.

The Nursing Simulation Lab is available to nursing students for viewing media, utilizing computerized learning programs, practicing skills, studying and skill evaluations.

Elmira Center

The Elmira facility has a Math Learning Center, and a Writing Center.  They provide services similar to those found in the learning centers on the main campus.
